Scoring Method for Estimating Daily
Vibration Exposure for Hand-Arm Vibrations
The table to the right can be used to quickly estimate whether hand-arm vibration exposure exceeds the action and limit values for daily vibration exposure, A(8), respectively.
What you need to know is the total vibration value of the work equipment, in three directions, and the time it is used per day.
- Exposure points are directly proportional to the usage time; doubling the usage time doubles the points.
- Exposure points can be added, for example, if a worker operates several handheld machines during a day.
- The action value, A(8), 2.5 m/s2 corresponds to 100 points
- The limit value, A(8), 5.0 m/s2 corresponds to 400 points.
